ObjectiveRecentyearshaveseenariseofmaleinfertilitymostlycausedbythedeclineofspermquality.Theratioofinfertilemalestoinfertilefemaleshasescalatedfrom3:7intotoday’s5:5,turninghumaninfertilityintotheresearchfocusofreproductivemedicine.Thisarticleaimedtoclarifytheeffectofreproductivetractinfectionbyureaplasmaurealyticum(UU)andchlamydiatrachomatis(CT)ontheDNAintegrityandroutineparametersofinfertilemales’sperm.MethodsAtotalofinfertilemalestreatedintheAndrologicalLaboratoryExaminationandReproductiveMedicineCenterinourhospitalwereanalyzed.QRT-PCRwasusedtoexaminetheinfectionbyCTandUU.Afterfulfillingtheeligibilitycriteria,weevaluatedthesemenparametersandbiochemicaldataofmen.AccordingtoresultsofPCR,allthesubjectsweredividedintofourgroups:groupI(CTpositive,63cases),groupII(UUpositive,60cases),groupIII(CTpositiveandUUpositive,62cases),andgroupIV(noinfection,68cases)ResultsExaminationswereconductedinthesefourgroupstotestDNAfragmentationindex(DFI),spermcount,vitalityandmorphology,elastinaselevel,seminalplasmamalondialdehyde(MDA),andtotalantioxidantcapacity(TAC).Aretrospectivestudywasperformed.ComparedtogroupIV,threegroups(groupI,groupIIandgroupIII)showeddifferenceinsemenvolume,proportionofspermwithnormalmorphology,spermmotility,progressivemotility,andvitality(P0.05).ComparedtogroupIV,groupIIandgroupIIIshoweddifferenceinDFI(P0.05).ComparedtogroupIV,groupIIandgroupIIIshoweddifferenceinelastaselevel(P0.05).ConclusionsIngroupII,UUinfectionsignificantlyincreasedthelevelofseminalleukocytes,butthislevelshowednoobviouschangeintheotherthreegroups,indicatingthatUUisanfactortoincreasethelevelofseminalleukocytes.Comparedwiththenormalleukocytegroup,therewerestatisticallysignificantdifferencesintotalmotility,forwardmotilityandnormalspermratiobetweenthetwogroups.Theproportionofspermwithabnormalmorphology(mostlyinthehead)showedobviousdifferencebetweengroupsofhighandnormalseminalleukocyticlevel.IinfectionbyUU,CT,ortheir
